Vacheron Constantin Overseas with FINX protection film

Vacheron Constantin Watch Protection Film: Overseas, Historiques 222 and Hand-Finished Edges

Vacheron Constantin cases are defined by hand-finished detail: long polished chamfers, tight transitions between brushed and mirror surfaces, and bracelets where every link is finished separately. It is beautiful work, and it is also the first thing lost to daily wear and to a service polish.

Overseas: where wear starts

  • Polished chamfers on the case and bezel. A single desk contact leaves a visible line across the mirror surface.
  • Maltese-cross bezel points. The tips take impacts because they stand proud of the case.
  • Integrated bracelet links. Polished centre sections rub against each other and against surfaces all day.
  • Butterfly clasp. A broad polished plate facing exactly where your wrist rests.

Historiques 222: a case that cannot be restored casually

The 222 revives a 1977 design with a fixed bezel and an integrated bracelet where the brushed grain runs in a specific direction. Polishing it back is far harder than polishing a round case, and the risk of softening the original lines is high. Preventing marks is the better strategy.

Why a generic film does not work here

An integrated bracelet has dozens of finished edges within a few centimetres. Film that is not cut for the exact reference either stops short of the chamfer — leaving the most exposed edge unprotected — or overlaps it and lifts. FINX cuts each piece for the specific reference, including the clasp and the link sides.

What a FINX kit covers

Case sides and chamfers, bezel where applicable, bracelet links and clasp, using FINX Optical Transparent Film: ultra-thin, patented, highly transparent and self-healing, removable without residue. Vacheron Constantin kits are US$175 and we cover 25 references, including the Overseas collection.

FAQ

Is film visible on a polished chamfer?

At normal viewing distance it is very hard to see. The chamfer keeps its mirror reflection; up close you may notice the film edge.

Will it affect the quick-release bracelet system?

No. Pieces are cut to leave the release mechanism and interchangeable strap system free.

Should I film a watch that already has marks?

Film stops further wear but does not remove existing scratches. If you plan a service polish, do it first, then protect the fresh finish.

My reference is not listed.

Send us the reference and we will cut a custom pattern.
